It's my 6 month surgiversary

Wow. It's really weird to think that it has been 6 months. It is even weirder to think that I am just a few pounds away from my surgeon's goal although I still have a long way until I achieve my personal goal.

There have been so many changes in the last 6 months. I am thrilled that I had the surgery and gave myself this fantastic tool. Having surgery and losing 100 lbs doesn't mean that life is suddenly perfect and I'm just walking through a meadow full of daisies and butterflies. Tough times still happen. However, this tool and working with my medical team (including my mental health doc) has helped me learn non food related coping skills. It is probably the first time in all the years of dieting that I truly feel like I am NOT on a diet but am really making a life style change and that is incredibly empowering.

Thank you so much to the folks on these boards who have educated and supported me in this journey. This community has been incredibly helpful and I truly appreciate it.

Thanks! I'm pretty darn happy for me too. I love the fact that I'm LIVING my life again instead of just existing in my life.

Thanks so much Elaine! I have to remember to take a moment and celebrate all the achievements that I have already accomplished. It is way too easy for me to gloss over those and focus on the final goal.
