TMI? I have to ask!
I am 5 weeks out and after surgery didn't have a BM for over a week. Now, when I get the feeling that I need to go it is easy to tell if it will be smooth sailing or if I need to take a Phillips stool softener. They are magic pills for me. An hour or two after the pill and all is good with the world again. Right now I go maybe twice a week but I am still on soft foods. Farting came back with a vengeance, but I rarely burp....maybe because I am eating and drinking slower?
The first two weeks, it was all loose stools. Then it stopped for four days and I had the most traumatic BM of my adult life. When I saw the surgeon at week three, he cleared me to add Miralax/Restoralax (half a dose in the morning) and fibre gummies (2 per day with a meal). Everything's been fine since. I might not poop every day, but I've yet to go more than two without.
Burping and farting are happening again, too. It feels like I have way more gas activity now, though. It might just be because I'm so conscious of it.
