I need to be accountable for my actions!
Hi everybody! I don't have a question or anything in particular that I need. I want to post this so that I am accountable for my actions (or lack thereof...) I had my VSG surgery on September 23, 2014. I had gotten down to 166 pounds (down from my start weight of 270) and have gained 4 pounds!
I stopped doing the following - got too comfortable with the weight loss:
- stopped measuring/weighing
- stopped eating slowly
- stopped eating my protein first
- had a mixed nut, muffin, bread in general and peanut M & M fetish (I know, I know...)
- sporadically took my vitamins/calcium
- stopped exercising daily
- stopped visiting this forum
In other words, I fell off the wagon and it ran me over. But starting last night, after my surgeon's visit, I dusted myself off and I am back on the wagon. I plan to visit the forum daily because it truly is an inspiration to me and reading your posts keeps me on track!

Welcome back. I'm glad you identified the problem before you gained a lot of weight back.
You did great getting from 270 pounds to 166 in 6 months!
Moving to maintenance was tricky for me, but I finally realized that it is about a new plan with more calories. It isn't about being done. We will never be done with this process.
best wishes,
Carol

Glad you got off of the merry-go-round so quickly Dawn and are moving forward! I agree that accountability is key to this journey. I had stopped using some of the tools as well, and got complacent, then drifted away, as I didn't want to be accountable for the few pounds I'd gained. So, of course, I gained some more. I came back here, and to the maintenance discussion group, and though things haven't been perfect - when are they ever? - I became accountable once again and began using the tools I have, and the gained weight is coming off.
