I feel like a kangaroo when I say that!! I'm curious how many ounces your stomach held at certain times after surgery. I started at about 1 ounce, a couple of weeks ago it was 1.5, and now I'm at 2 ounces and I feel quite satisfied with that.

Veterans? Where are you at with portion sizes?

I am definitely not a vet. I had surgery on Feb 24 so about 7 weeks ago. I can eat almost 2 ounces right now. A little less if I try to eat steak or drier meat.

every ones sleeve is different ( no pouch thats for rny)about 2 oz  at 6-6 weeks is about average

it also depends what your plan allows you to eat weather you feel full, eat by measuring your food at this point , your nerves to your stomach are not working yet and you may not feel when you are full

rule #1 follow your plan , if you plan is not working right for you call your nut or surgeon

I am 16 days post op and I can eat 3-4 ounces of refried beans or yogurt or cottage cheese with no feeling of restriction. I ate my first deli meat today and chickened out at just under the 2 ounces I'd dished myself, still no feeling of restriction but I am terrified of overstuffing myself so I'd rather stop with a few bites left than try to clean my plate and get sick. I haven't felt my true restriction limit because I've never tried to reach it.

I'm 3 years out and can eat about a cup of food. If I eat just dense protein with nothing else I can eat almost 5 ounces. At some point last year at about 2 3/4 years out I ate dry chicken breast to find out just how many ounces I could really eat. I could not eat the 5 oz I weighed out.

One hard boiled egg is enough to satisfy me when I'm hungry. If I listen to my satiety cues, an egg is an ample in between meal snack.

That sounds about what my capacity was at 5/6 weeks. Now, at 2.5 years out I can eat about 4 oz of dense protein and a couple of bites of vegetables. Restriction is still there but of course slider foods go through like water. Gotta avoid those completely or else I could eat a lot of stuff that I should not. We don't have a pouch - you shouldn't feel like a Kangaroo! We have a normal stomach. Just thinner and smaller.
