Hello Everyone,

I particpate in hot yoga and I tribal dance several times a week. Surgery is tentarive for late July. How long after surgery until I can participate again? Both cause heavy sweating and im scared I will have to give them up due to fluid intake. These are my outlets that help keep my anxiety and depression in check.

Thanks

My doctor released my for full exercise at 4 weeks. That is when I started back my dance class. I took it really easy for first few weeks and tried not to jump, bend and really move my stomach area. I really sweat with this class and just make sure I'm getting more water on those days. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

I was allowed to do cardio as soon as I felt up to it ~ a week out I slowly started getting back to more than walking.   Lifting weights was not until 6 weeks out.

I was also cleared for cardio right away - had to wait to do strength work for 6 weeks.  I started a tap and jazz class 3 weeks to the day of surgery, and made it through the whole hour.  I was horrible at tap, so ended up just doing jazz.  :)  I was wiped out after that class, but made it through.  Your classes may be a little more intense, so you'll have to gauge how you are.  Best thing to do is speak with your surgeon.  Good luck!
