2 days post-op
My surgery went great and after 1 night in the hospital I was released to go home. I also had a hernia repair (hernia found during procedure). Over all I'm not in a ton of pain and have only taken the pain med at night since being home. The only issue I've had is some nausea but they worked to control it each time.
I was told to focus on liquids the most, so that's my plan. How many ounces should I be getting in to avoid dehydration? I was told to shoot for as much as possible, but want to be sure I'm getting enough to avoid complications.
Yay - I've finally made it on the bench!!

They told me to work up to 64 and I'm trying. I'm only at 30 right now. Back to more sipping!

I have been wondering about you & how you're doing! It sounds like its going pretty well. I was told to shoot for 64 ounces right off the bat. I had no problems with liquids, but I also used sugar free jello and Popsicles so I had a variety!
Keep drinking & get some walks in!!
More importantly.....WELCOME TO THE BENCH!!

I'm struggling to get to even 48 at this point but being over 30 today there is still time I guess. I just don't want to wind up dehydrated!
Yes, the recovery has been going well. I'm just hoping the nausea stops here soon!! Thankfully I have meds to help with that!

64 ounces was the minimum for me. That included sugar free popsicles and anything liquid. The popsicles were a life saver, although I had to wait for them to melt a bit before I could eat them.
Warm beverages tended to go down easier too. Anything cold as far as liquid felt like a shock to my system.
