Weird wt loss pattern?

I'm 6wks post op today. I lost a bunch the first 10 days post op, then nothing for almost 2 wks, then lost .5-1lb per day for about 10 days, now it's been 8 days with no loss at all again. Is this typical? I wasn't really exercising til a couple days ago I started doing workout videos to try and Jumpstart things and also build strength and endurance.

HW: 265, surgery wt 245, post op wt 254.  VSG: 3/3/15

Everyone is different but for me it wasn't a steady continuous downward spiral.  If I look at my weight loss pattern on a diagram it looks like a bunch of stairs.  I would lose weight then stay steady for a week or two and then lose a bunch more.  This is completely normal.  As you increase the intensity of your exercise also expect to stall for a couple weeks due to the inflammation of your muscles.  Keep it up.  You're doing great :)

Yup, totally normal. A few people lose in a straight line, most lose like you describe, and call it a "stair step" pattern. You stay the same for a week or two, drop a bunch, stay the same for a while, etc.

If you are honestly following your plan, relax. Over time it all works out.

There's a great free website called Trendweight. You can input weights manually, or it will take them from Fitbit or MFP if you use those. It takes all your recorded weights and puts them in a nice graph that smooths out all the bumps, and shows you where and when the graph is headed in the future. It even tells you when you should hit your goal weight -- if you stick to your plan, of course. I found it to be pretty accurate.

I got really excited when you mentioned Trendweight.  But I'm trying to create an account and I don't see where I can connect it to MFP.  It says I need a fitbit account or WiFi scale.

It's been so long since I last signed up. Maybe it's just Fitbit that it connects to? The only place I record my weight is MFP, and I know Fitbit gets my weight from there, and Trendweight gets the weight from Fitbit.

I never did get around to buying a WiFi scale. It was on my list, but I never justified the expense.

Yeah, you need a FitBit account. When I lose weight, I update like five different websites!

Thanks for mentioning Trendweight.  I just signed up with that and Fitbit and can now see WHEN i'll hit my goal.

Ok well I guess this is normal then thanks guys. Grim thanks for the weight trend suggestion. I signed up and it's pretty cool. I think it links with fitbit which also for me got my weights from MFP.
