Three years... and First (completed) Bike Race
Congratulations Tom! Your post is truly inspiring. I am 7.5 months post-op and down 73 lbs. My husband and I recently purchased an RV and my next purchase is going to be a bicycle. I am excited about the possibility of being able to actually ENJOY pedaling and feeling the breeze in my face as the world races by (well, in the beginning, the world will be creeping by but that's okay). Best wishes for your future race. Thanks for sharing your success story! Pamela
Remember to start slow and build up gradually. I think a lot of people abandon because they try to go to far to soon. Butt hurts, legs hurt, how can this be "fun?" But if you build up your leg strength gradually your butt will hurt less...

I have to admit I've surprised myself. I would never have guessed that once I peeled back 120lbs of fat I'd find an athlete inside :)
