If I understand correctly, it's 2  protein shakes a day and then all liquids and then for dinner a lean protein with veggie? My surgeon required 2 shakes a day and two snacks that were protein. so like a small cottage cheese or a cheese stick. At night I was able to have csh and spinach or somthing like that. I loved it. Droppped lots of weight and it shrank my liver. my surgeon stressed how important it was to lose weight before the surgery bc if your liver is too big, they can't cut the stomach and they actually refuse to do the surgery in some cases. You have to assume that all obese patients have a bigger liver, so that's why he made it mandatory. I think it will be great! I did a 2 day all liquid diet and that was hard. that was clear broth and gatorade though. This is easy compared to that! Good luc****ep us posted

Other than no food the day before I had no pre surgery diet. ( no scope no anything but bloods and ekg)

I wonder if it's the difference between private and insurance pays.

Of course, it could be due to comorbidities - of which I had none besides diabetes / weight?

Every doc is so different!

Seriously (I'm not kidding), is this written in Russian or another foreign language for a late April Fool's joke?   I have no idea what this post says.

I had the same pre-op and for me it was easy.  Knowing that at the end of the day after drinking the shakes and water I could have a small meal was great.

Advice, take your time when you eat that meal.

My doctor did not require a liquid pre-op diet until two days before surgery.  Maybe it would have been better if he had?

Full liquids for one week prior to surgery. For me, it was tough & I warned my family (17 yr old, husband & the dog too) to steer clear of me for that week. They ate & I disappeared. I do have to admit that it got easier as my surgery date approached.
