My mornings post sleeve
I think part of the process is figuring out how to get in food when you are super busy taking care of your patients. You will have to think of food as fuel (which you must have) vs an optional pleasure.
It sounds like you don't have a desk when at work. Do you have access to your car? You could keep a few emergency protein drinks/foods there in case you forget to grab your lunch bag on the way out.
Prior to WLS, I had a bad habit of not carving out time for regular meals at work. Now, I never skip although I still too frequently work thru lunch. I know I can eat my lunch (which is just several bites of food -- how hard is that?) over 20 minutes while I am working. And, in a pinch, I will drink a protein drink out of a travel mug. (I like the travel mug cuz I don't want to be asked what the protein drink is.)
It is way too early to be thinking this was a mistake. You are just transitioning back to your usual life. You will figure it out. Pretend you are your own patient. You would never let your patient starve.

It sounds like you're still very dehydrated and in need of electrolytes. Your "opinion" of doing good fluid-wise is much different to whether or not you have mastered 64oz of fluids in a day. Your body is reacting to this. Get some G2 Gatorade to replace electrolytes (for the dizzyness) and hydrate. You may be a little early to be back at work. I was fuzzy-headed for a few weeks, myself.
BTW - oatmeal is a horrible choice for breakfast. You need to start your day with oatmeal, so try some yogurt or ricotta instead to get yourself on the right foot.

That sounds miserable! No wonder you're worrying about whether or not WLS was right for you. As other people have said, you definitely sound dehydrated. Regardless of your water intake you are not getting enough if your urine is dark and you are dizzy. I would try to increase your curren****er intake by at least 50%, which you should be measuring still if you are having symptoms. Are you measuring your food? You say that you usually can only have a couple tablespoons of food and were surprised you could have 1.5 oz of oatmeal, but 1.5 oz is only three tablespoons, so should not be that different than two tablespoons. If you can only eat an ounce at a time perhaps you should ask your NUT if you can eat more frequently so that you are able to get in the recommended amounts. It's really important. Otherwise you can lose more muscle than you want to and have other complications. You should definitely call them before the 7th because I don't think you're having a typical post-op course. I'm less than two weeks out and get at least 64 oz. of water and have two ounces of full liquids five times a day, as my plan dictates.
Good luck and keep us posted!
