Post-Op Nutrition

I avoid carbs and especially sugar.

I don't go for low fat products. In fact, I get pissed that it's so hard (in my supermarkets, anyway) to find full fat Greek yogurt!

The only fruit I have are lower sugar ones like berries... in serious moderation. I have had them maybe 2-3 times in my 8 months post op, and I pair them with fat and protein.

I don't really think that for people trying to lose weight, "healthy" starches are a good idea. What is a "healthy" food? If you're someone who has never had a weight problem, I'm sure they can be a good part of your diet. But most people who are trying to lose weight do best when they're in ketosis, and even "healthy" starches will kick you out of ketosis.

I try to stick to 20-30g of carbs (often I do less!), 60-80g of protein, and the rest is fat. Fat is your friend!
