Final Dr.'s Appointment

Well, I called my surgeon's office today and scheduled my "last" appointment. It's the one you go to where you make sure everything is squared away and you get to schedule your surgery and then WAIT...... for insurance to approve.

I have everything completed. The only "iffy" item is my documented weight. I have a doctor's documentation from 2011, 2012, and 2013; however, I did not go to the doctor during 2014 because I was ashamed of my weight and did not want to be lectured. I went to see my surgeon in December of 2014 to talk about WLS... so he is really my ONLY record of weight that year. I am hoping that this won't affect my approval.

I go see the doctor on Monday, March 30th at 9:45. This is my last hurdle before waiting on BCBS of Mississippi to do their thing!

I think you should be fine to go, they want the history to show a long time need

 if you went to weigh****chers they may except that as documented weight

I did weigh****chers when I was a kid a couple of times... then once before I got pregnant about 15 years ago... then again about two years ago (on line).

I completed the insurance company's required 6 months of Active Health coaching with their nutritionist. My doctor has a copy of that to submit with the request as well...

So hopefully, that will do it.

I usually never went to the doctors.  They had me right a short note stating what my weight was over the past 3 years and that I didn't go to the doctors for anything but this. This was acceptable for my Aetna insurance.  Good luck

BCBS has been pretty good about trying to keep the state employees healthy. So maybe they will be fine with all I have submitted.

Good Luck!! I know getting that approval seems like the final hurdle before moving forward with getting real dates, etc. Here's hoping your news comes quickly. I have Cigna and from the day they received it, they took just 4 business days to approve.

Maaaaaaaan.... I would do an absolute BACKFLIP if they would approve me that quickly! I want to get this ball rolling!!!
