My experience at 2.5 years post op
Could you elaborate on what you said here, "vagus nerve was stimulated so I got the sneezies at the end". What do you mean by that? Thanks :-)

Sure, its my stop signal. When I am full I sneeze and my nose runs a bit. Some people get hic ups. I get the sneezies. My surgeon explained it to me as the result of stimulation of the vagus nerve by your stomach being full. The vagus nerve runs from the stomach area to the brain via the sinuses hence the sneezies. I have never had what people call the foamies but I suspect it is the same mechanism at work. And I have never vomited post op. The surgeon said that my sneezies are a soft indicator to stop. I never tested the system beyond that so no idea what would happen if I kept eating after the first sneeze. It happens very rarely now as I stick to the known and tested quantities of 3-4 oz protein and 1-2 oz veggies. Special meals are different though!
I am doing well enough, I suppose, but have given up the fight - so to speak. I no longer wish to fight, my nutritional therapist and my food shrink don't want me dieting either, so I am working on finding peace, stopping the diet mentality to which I have been a slave for over 40 years, and getting on with the business of dealing with root issues rather than the symptoms. Not easy, but I'm hoping worth it in the long run. Actually, in reality all this **** blows, but I have to do the work unless I want to keep struggling with this food crap for the rest of my life and I really don't!
