Weight loss slowing down.. at a stand still now for 3 months.. able to eat more food... really have to watch my portion sizes...

Please give me an example of what you are able to eat 8 months after surgery.. I still have 105 pounds to go until I reach my goal..

Really could use some advice...

I dont eat bread, rice, pasta.. Only occasional baked potato...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

If you haven't lost weight in 3 months then you are in maintenance.  That means simply that you are eating enough calories to sustain your current weight.  You will need to cut your calories considerably from what you are eating now.  I currently eat 900 calories or less to continue losing.  I do not eat potatoes EVER during the weight loss stage.

If you'd like to see my food diaries, I have logged every single day since surgery 15 months ago.  I still weigh and measure everything -- and I suspect, you may find that you are eating more than you realize or intend if you do the same.  I have the same name there.

Good luck!

What, exactly, are you eating every day?  Give us an example of a daily menu so we can troubleshoot.

I recommend that you start measuring everything you eat and logging it in MyFitnessPal, if you're not already.

I will be 8 months on Sunday.  I'm still losing weight, but much much slower.  I log most of what I eat in My Fitness Pal.  Some days are better than others.  I do eat bread, pasta and potatoes, but just a bite of two and only if it is REALLY good.  I eat homemade bread, but don't waste those carbs or calories on stuff from the store.  I'll eat 3 or 4 bites of someone else's potato, but that's it.  One thing that I've found recently that helps me eat less is if I eat much slower.  The doc told me that in the beginning, but now that my weight loss has slowed so much, I'm trying harder.  I've found if I'm eating dense protein and I take a bite every 3 minutes that I can only eat about 3 oz, where if I eat faster, I can eat 4 oz but I feel too full when I'm done.  I just use the timer on my phone.  Also, I think drinking a lot of water helps the feeling that you need to eat.  I've decided that I'm never actually hungry, but sometimes I'm thirsty or sometimes I just feel like I need to eat.  Water helps with that.  Good luck!  Since our surgery dates are so close, maybe we should stay in touch!

Are you exercising? My surgeon told me that our bodies become used to the lower amount of calories and try to maintain.  I am 6 months out and have not lost any weight in a month.  I have been inconsistent with exercise and am trying to incorporate it into my daily routine.
