Very gassy Post Op 5 days is it normal?

I wake up at 3am and my stomach is just gurgling over and over and over.  I am having loose bowel movements sinceyesturday.  Is it just because I had been sleeping and not moving???    Any ideas?

The stomach gurgling is normal,  You just has your insides re-arranged.  Your guts are bound to rebel for a while.  My stomach still makes lots of noise and I'm almost 5 years out.  Don't mistake the rumbling for hunger, it's NOT.  

Loose bowels are also normal early out from surgery.  Liquid in, liquid out.  You are not eating anything solid.  There will come a time when you are complaining of constipation.  Sleeping and rest are important to healing, but you should be moving around and walking laps around your house frequently.  This helps get rid of the gas and prevents blood clots.

my surgeon  told me to take Imodium  the first week when I had diarrhea  ask yours about it   

I'm 4 days post-op and have a lot of gurgling also.  But I only had loose bowels on 2&3 day.
