Feeling discouraged today
As I ice my shin splints this morning, I'm feeling a bit down. In the last year, I slowly increased my steps to 20k per day walking at home. Then one stupid hour on a treadmill... Arghh.
In addition, although I've lost a bunch of weight, I still don't feel any better. My doctors are working on why I'm feeling so tired all the time, but it gets frustrating.
I just need to remind myself, things will get better.

Without my disparaging anything your doctors are currently doing, don't rule out the possibility of chronic depression. Feeling "a bit down" and "tired all the time" are hallmarks of moderate depression. Just something you might want to mention to your doctors, if you haven't already.

I agree with the depression reference. Sometimes with clinical depression, you can't will yourself to feel better, even while focusing on all of the good! If your surgeon does lab work, he could also check you for iron and your other levels. Not a bad thing to look into.
You have so many reasons to be proud! 20K steps! Amazing! Your weight loss is amazing, too! That's a lot of hard work that you put in - don't minimize how much your body is working for you. Rest when you need it. Be kind to yourself when you need it. Keep going.
But if it's more than just a bad day - and we all have them - be proactive and look into getting the help when needed! You deserve to be happy and have peace!
Best wishes to you!
Have you had your thyroid checked? To me it sounds like that could be a factor. Low thyroid can also cause some depression, at least it did for me. Hope they are able to figure something out soon!

Have stopped losing pounds but am losing inches!
Treadmills, ugh! We call it the "dread-mill" at our house Your activity level is amazing so please feel good about that. At almost 2 years out there's no way I get even close to 20K steps per day at the sit-on-my-ass job I have.
And I second all those who adivsed you to get screened for thyroid, low iron and depression.
In the meantime -- hugs!
