Where do you shop for clothes?
So my favorite clothing store has closed. I need to find a new favorite store. Now that I'm actually able to wear smaller sizes my options have really opened up. But I'm completely lost and don't know where to shop anymore. I used to shop at Deb's. So those of you that are familiar with the type of fashion that Deb's sold I could really use some advice of where to buy clothes that are similar in style. I've looked at Express and Macy's but they are ungodly expensive. I'm still a bit too heavy for places like A&E and Aero but they aren't really my style anyway. HELP! For those of you who are close or already at goal, where did you start shopping? I'm looking for a place that has good style and good quality (so no to places like Walmart and Target) but won't charge me $50 for a tee shirt. I'm 27 years old so I'm interested in clothes suited for a girl in her 20's. I'm somewhere around a size 14 or 16 but I'm still losing weight.
Don't underestimate what you'll find a thrift and consignment stores. I'm amazed at what other women discard. Consignment stores are great because you can trade in you clothes to fund your next size, thus saving a fortune. I got my first pair of disgustingly expensive jeans at a consignment store. I remember because I was havng fits about paying $12 for them (becaue I paid $5 at Goodwill), but they fit so perfectly. Two years later they had finally worn out and I wanted to replace them, only to discover that they cost $175.
Now that you've crossed over from the plus size section, you'll be needing to replace your wardrobe with every 5-10 lbs, so this is about to get expensive! For full-retail, though, I love Cato. They have a wonderful plus section and regular sizes, and they swap out styles often, so there's something different every time I enter the store.

I'm not closer to goal yet, but oh how I miss Deb. It was one of my top favorites, that and torrid. I don't know if you can fit into a smaller size in torrid or not still. But I second the Forever 21, Charolette Russe, Rue 21, Hot Topic, and Wet Seal, all have great choices. I shop with my smaller friends all the time, one of their favs is Forever 21.
& hey don't knock walmart & target, they got some cute stuff sometime ;)
I know you said no Target, but I have had great luck this spring. I have found good quality maxi dresses, cute blouses I can wear to work or out in the evening. You may want to give them some consideration. I'm a big bargain shopper so I sign up for emails from the stores I like. Usually every other week is a sale or 50% off something. I'm a big fan of H&M, Ann Taylor Loft & the Limited(clearance rack and only when they have sales). I'm also a big fan of Old Navy. They run good sales and promotions. You may also want to try TJ Maxx & Marshalls you have to go thru the racks, but I have been rewarded.
