I'm stuck...AGAIN!!!

I was stuck at around 257-259 for over a month. Then I seemed to break the stall, but now I'm stuck again at around 253-255. This has been going on for what seems like forever. I cannot seem to get out of the 250's. I initially lost close to 60lbs really fast and then just stopped right here. No weight has come off in so long! I told my nutritionist everything I'm eating and she said it's all good and I've started going to the gym (infrequently, I admit due to time constraints) but still nothing seems to be working. I'm just getting so frustrated and feel like I'm failing and I don't even know why.

It could be a stall, it could be what you are eating. You need to give more info. What exactly are you eating? Calories, carbs, protein, etc. Some nutritionists are idiots and give bad advice.

Hi

please provide more details on what you are eating.  Sounds like you could be transitioning into maintenance.

Sorry, I'm 17 weeks out. A typical day for me is something like:

B: Protein shake or plain oatmeal

S: Laughing cow light cheese wedge or light string cheese

L: Chicken sausage or small salad & cup of chicken soup

D: Baked salmon or grilled chicken w/ veggies

This morning I am having coffee & a cup of no beans chili (weird, but sounded good)

I take 12 pills a day between all the vitamins and acid meds and BP meds

I drink mainly decaf coffee & unsweet tea which my doctor and nutritionist both approved since they're basically flavored water

I try to make it to the gym 3x a week (that's the goal) but it's usually more like 1-2x since my work schedule has been crazy lately and I work 12 hour days. I do like to see my hubby and kids every now & then. When I do make it to the gym I do cardio for about an hour on the treadmill and bike and then move on to strength training on the machines for another hour.

The doctor said the amount of weight loss is on track & that my fat mass is down and muscle mass is up. But I can't help but want that number to move. It's making me crazy and it's literally been like 2 months of being in the 250's which freaks me out. Why is it not working when I barely get in 600 calories/day and am far more active than I used to be.

You didn't mention how much water you're getting in?

Not much (maybe a cup) unless it's in the coffee or tea. I've never been a big drinker at all even before surgery.

That could be a big part of it. Your body uses water to help get the fat cells out of your body. People who drink that little end up in the hospital getting IV fluids because of dehydration. I'd really try to make it to 64 oz. as everyone else has said.

coffee and tea count but you must get in 65 oz or you will hurt your kidneys and retain water
