All i want it some COLD ice cream just a taste
I never ate Popsicles before surgery, but they were a lifesaver after... helped with the need to bite something, and were cold and refreshing. Sugar Free of course.

I think when we have surgery we feel we need to comfort ourselves when we don't feel good. I am not saying this about you. I found that I wanted something like that after surgery.
I really thought about why I wanted it. I associated comfort food to help me make me feel better. Like when a winter storm happens I think I want to bake something. I know I may be looking into things too much.
Getting the ice cream maker was a good thing for me. I also bought a magic bullet which I make smoothies in. I bought banana flavored sugar-free syrup and made a protein milk shake. There are a lot of options with making protein shakes. When you do get a sweet tooth.

Don't trust your taste buds; trust your hunger. In the early phase of healing, unfortunately a lot of artificial sweeteners are permitted and even necessary. But don't let this temporary diet seduce you back into eating unnecessary sweets.
When your stomach has healed and you can eat a wide variety of foods, your sugar should come from fresh fruit only. Don't let artificial or natural sugars gain a foothold in your life. They're all bad for you.

My ice cream maker was an essential part of my post-op life. I bought a Lello, Jr machine with built in refrigeration. It is just right to throw in a protein shake and have a large bowl of soft serve in 20 minutes. I ate protein ice cream daily in place of meals. Nothing to freeze ahead of time and always ready to use.
I just looked on Amazon and they only have the large one tonight. Mine is the one quart size which was perfect for single protein shake.
