If this had been FDA approved at the time of my decision (and assuming of course it works as described) I totally would have tried this prior to trying the VSG. I really feel like I would have experienced regain though, but it is hard to tell. Right now I have a regain of 10 pounds, and the restriction does still contribute to that not being worse... although the regain is a result of sugary crap food and not overeating from a purely volume aspect. (Lots of calories in cookies, but cookies don't take up a lot of room in the stomach when eaten type thing.) I wonder if the larger stomach/hunger thing would have resulted in the slow but steady gain I experienced in my younger years and prior to vsg. I think probably yes given I am having to be mindful of it now even with our reduced ghrelin levels and restriction.

This looks interesting!  I'm curious to see how it will progress.  I'm not super keen on having foreign objects put into my body, but that's just a personal choice.  

Me too usually... but I love the fact it is removed once goal is reached. That is the one downside of Vsg or Rny... not so reversible should complications arise. 

I agree, that is pretty cool.  Of course, if no lifestyle change happens, the weight will just be regained after removal.  But in case of complications, if it truly is reversible, that's neat.  (Although I wonder if it can cause damage like the lap band.)

This article was released 2 years ago. I really wonder what happened with it? I haven't heard anything about this until now. Interesting.

It's also nice that it can be placed in 10-15 minutes with no cutting. For me it's a mute point since I've already had a vsg, but it is interesting to see new developments. 

I saw something about this earlier on facebook and I thought it was neat as well. I am with Gwen though on wondering whether or not it could cause permanent damage. I personally never would want a foreign object in me, but its always nice to have more options out there for people considering different weight loss options.  

After all the damage I'm still suffering a year after my band was removed (no revision) you couldn't pay me enough to try that contraption!
