Sizes are weird!

I'm not complaining about my weight loss (36lbs in 2mths) but I sure thought that would translate into more than just one size smaller! But hey-I'm one size smaller!

every company of women's cloths is different no standard cloths sizes like men have , men cloths are standard sizes because the army made up sizes to make it easy for them to supply cloths to the troops without them being tried on each time

I have found this to be the case, because I stretched out my highest weight clothes so much since I didn't want to buy even bigger sizes! :-)

Plus size clothing is... Not regular. In regular sizing, it's usually about 1-1.5" larger each size up. But plus kinda almost exponentially goes up. That's why, for example, a lane Bryant 26 can be a smidge tight, but the 28 is too big.

I've reached a point where a new pair of pants for work would be a good thing. I went to buy some today and ended up buying nothing. I'm heading downstairs to fire up the sewing machine and do some alterations instead.

It turns out I've lost way more weight on my arms and legs than I thought I have - I've gone from a 28 lane Bryant waist to a little smaller than a 24, but my legs could easily fit an 20 leg. Hmmm.

Not bad things, not at all! But rather challenging fit wise...

oh well, I'm lucky enough to know how to sew, so 'fixing' some existing pants it is.

Plus sizes have much more wiggle room between sizes.  Once you pass by size 16, you'll find a need for a new wardrobe every 5-10 lbs.

I've noticed this too! I've lost a bit of weight too and went from a 22 to a 20 but that took 30 pounds! Can't wait to get out of plus sizes!

I will have to lose 150 pounds or thereabouts before I get to buy new clothes and change sizes. No joke. The highest plus-size clothes typically go is about a 30/32... 5Xish. Occasionally you can find a 6X, but it's rare to find something cute in those sizes. So the majority of my clothes when I was 600 pounds, and now at 500ish pounds, are a really stretchy 5X, and (if memory serves, it's been QUITE a while) 5X is the same size I was wearing at 350 pounds! That means I will have been wearing the same exact clothing with a 250 pound difference. Try wrapping your head around THAT, haha. :)
