Hi all!

I am a little over 7 months post op... i've lost about 70 pounds since surgery and 90 overall. I cannot seem to get rid of my belly! It still hangs over..it's not like loose skin..but just like a REALLY big muffin top...I'm feeling really frustrated bc I work out4-5x/week doing T25 and/or insanity.. so i am doing intense workouts..I have no idea what I can do to jump start the weight loss in my belly area..any ideas?? Thanks in advance!!

you can't do anything to loose fat in a specific area of the body aside from liposuction.  Just keep working your plan and the fat will come off everywhere.

Good luck!  90lbs is amazing :)

When I hit my goal weight, I still had quite a belly, and so I lost another 20 pounds, and I still have a serious muffin top.  I went to a plastic surgeon last month to talk about a tummy tuck and she told me I didn't have much fat left in my belly, and didn't need to lose more weight.  She said its mostly skin - though it doesn't seem like only skin to me.

I just mention this because it my be true for you -  If your BMI is normal and your ribs are sticking out, perhaps your excess belly is mostly skin.

best wishes,

Carol

I have the same thing..you actually have lost weight just for some reason that part of skin is thicker on us. And doesn't appear as to have the " deflated balloon" look..

believe me, at one of my check ups with my surgeon he was looking at my incision site and said..looks really good! I was like are you kidding me? Look how thick my stomach is, he said no, it's your skin..there's no fat in there..

I finally believed him when I was researching a plastic surgeon and his before and afters..most befores looked just like me!

I have the same thing,  just doesn't want to go! I know there is some skin, but I also believe I'm still carrying a good amount of fat in there. I'm in the 160s and still struggling to get to my goal of 155. I have a feeling it's going to be there despite more weight loss though :-/

You are like me, a lollipop!  :)   I have lost 82 pounds overall at 5 months and have comparatively skinny legs but a very large belly still.  As someone who has yo-yo'd my entire life I can assure you that eventually your tummy will get a lot smaller but will probably wait to disappear until it's the very last weight to come off.  I am 5'7".  Don't know how tall you are but my goal weight in 150 and that will put me in about a size 8/10 pants b/c while the belly shrinks it never gets super skinny.  I am more than happy at that size though!  My doctor refers to me as apple shaped.  I don't think there is anything that we can do to make it come off quicker.  It's just a waiting game.

I am about 5'5 so I am supposed to technically be around 120 to be at "normal" weight but I don't think I will ever get that thin just bc of my body structure. I agree.. I think I need to be more patient.. It's so hard tho lol

My BMI chart says that for 5'5, anything between 150 and 115 is "normal."
