Can someone please explain why we can't have soda after VSG?

Gas is an issue and space in your sleeve early on.  I think the carbonation could be very uncomfortable.

I think after a short while you would probably be fine.  I kicked the habit and have not gone back.  I know that diet coke was a pal to all my binge foods.  Introducing it back just doesn't seem worth it.

Makes sense...it has never been explained to me why I couldn't have it.  I have had no problems, thank God, and don't want to create any.  Thank you for your response.

Here is an article I just shared with my mom.  She is addicted to sugar and lives on diet soda.  I  feel that the sweeteners actually trigger cravings.

there make you very uncomfortable, also most sugar free products make you more glucose resistant

I kicked the habit as well, 3 months ago, and I'm doing fine without it! I thought I'd really miss it but everything just doesn't seem as important now, in terms of old food cravings.

A dr once told me the gas and carbonation actually expand or something and stretches out your stomach again. And ive always heard that diet pop actually makes you crave sweets

Diet pop may make you crave sweets but it certainly doesn't stretch the stomach. If it was that easy, every time you ate it would stretch.

To the OP : Diet cola really bothers me but diet dew is OK, especially if I pour it into a glass.
