What do I say?

I have been told by many people to stop losing weight and that I look fine. I am 200lbs and I still have 25lbs to go before I get to my goal weight. I finally calculated my BMI and I'm over weight and not obese anymore. What do I say to these people? This is becoming a weekly question now.

I have the same problem. People ask me how much more weight I want to lose and when I tell them they look at me like I have 2 heads. I usually reply with something along the lines of "Well, this is the weight goal given to me by my doctor." That usually shuts them up, lol.

Also, congrats on your success so far!!

I told people I only intended to reach the goal that the medical community considers a 'normal weight'...and that according to them, I'm still overweight....but be sure to thank them for the nice compliment.

My doctor is keeping close tabs on me. Thanks for your concern.

They are not used to seeing you thinner. When you get to goal and stay there, comments like these stop.

I just agreed with them and nodded and went about my business. If they get truly annoying a few choice 4 letter words spring to mind.

I'd tell them I'm under my drs care, but thank - you for your concerns, then change the subject to something else. They're just not used to seeing you thin, they'll get used to it eventually.

My favorite line is "thanks for the feedback".  That's it, leave it at that - they'll get the hint, or if they don't, they'll think you plan on taking their advice.

Acknowledge their comment and change the subject. Every single time. Eventually people will get the hint.

Every last one of us goes through this. The responses you got above are great. Just keep doing what you've been doing.

Thank you guys for the response. I will definitely need these again. I don't know why it bothers me but it does. I know they are looking out for my best interest and no one has been mean about it, I guess I have just been really sensitive regarding that subject.
