Stool softener question

What stool softener do you recommend? Is there one that doesn't keep you in the bathroom all day, but just makes it easier to go when you naturally need to go?

I have gotten into the habit of using Miralax once a week.  I get the powder, pour into beverage, shake, drink.  Not harsh and tasteless and there are coupons online.

I also use Miralax. That was what was recommended by my surgeon. Miralax doesnt keep you in the bathroom all day either, and its easy on your stomach. 

Miralax is a good option. My doctor also recommends Colace. 

They make a generic version of Miralax. My grandmother was prescribed it every day because it is that gentle.

Colace is a stool softener.

Miralax is a gentle laxative.

I'd start with a softener before going to a laxative.

Colace is recommended for short term use only.

Miralax is considered safe for long term use.

A half cupful of Miralax five days a week in my morning protein shake, plus two Fiber Gummies has made all the difference in my world 

stool softeners are all the same. They don't keep you in the bathroom all the time.they are not habit forming. Any generic brand works just like the most expensive brand name product. 

laxatives are a different matter. Some of them can be habit forming. Miralax is not habit forming. Smooth move tea,senna ex lax etc are all. Habit forming.
