Follow up right sided pain

So as I posted a few days ago. I suddenly developed right sided abdominal pain nearly 3 weeks post op. We were concerned about gallstones, but the ultrasound and CT were negative. However, on the CT scan there was evidence of inflammation below the site where the stomach was removed and the muscle pulled together. The surgeon believes an internal suture "popped" and the adjacent muscle tissue became inflamed. Narcotics have not been terribly helpful, so we agreed to a few days of an NSAID to reduce the inflammation. I'd like to reduce the pain so I can get back to exercising.

Took one 200 mg ibuprofen and the pain is 100% improved. I will not take anymore ibuprofen as it gave my tremendous heartburn despite taking Omeprazole concomitantly. Just gonna adhere to protein shakes for next 24 hrs.

Have you tried the liquigels?  One of the WLS docs said, when using ibuprphen, to use liquigels, to be on the safe side.  My cousin, who did not have WLS, but has had lots of stomach issues.  I suggested she try the liquigels and now uses them when her back kicks up, and said it doesn't bother her stomach.  Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thank you!  Luckily the one ibuprofen did the trick. I felt great today and even walked for 90 minutes 😃

I have had a lot of pain on my right side in what seems like that same area. I am almost a month post op and its just now starting to feel a little better. Hopefully the NSAIDs will help! Good luck!

My surgeon said as soon as I felt better, I could return to exercising. I walked for 90 mins on the treadmill at a very low (3%) incline and I feel fine. The more vigorous avtivity will definitely wait for a few more weeks. I just feel better and sleep better when I'm active.
