Am I the only one?

I also think your feelings are normal.  For me, it was more of a process leading up to the pre-op diet time, rather than while I was on the diet.  I was so terrified of doing something wrong that would cause the surgery to be cancelled or not go right, that those feelings were way overshadowed by pure unadulterated fear! :)  Others have said that, with the sleeve, you can eat anything, which means never having to say good bye to any foods.  For me, there are certain foods that I don't eat, not because I can't, but because I choose not to, just for today.  I have had 3 1/2 years of just for todays, but again, it is by choice.  Prior to the pre-op diet, I started letting go of some foods, but always by choice, allowing myself to eat them if I really wanted to, which seemed to decrease the desire significantly.  I did have a 'last meal', but ended up not overdoing it.  Without getting into the long, boring story of why, my surgery was cancelled while I was under anesthesia.  Once cleared, I had it 3 weeks later.  During that time, until I had to go back on liquids again, I chose to eat a few things, but also chose to not do so very much.  Are you seeing a theme here?  :)  Allowing myself to eat anything, but choosing not to has been much more freeing, for me, than saying never more.  Best of luck to you!!!
