What was your first.....

What was your first soft food and what was your first real food?

Im not hungry one bit but still doing liquids.  When I get home at night the basic meals my wife makes for the kids smell soooooo good (my wife's a good cook). I've heard that since we can eat so little food, many people want to eat the best tasting food.

So what was your firsts? I know I don't wan my first soft food to be liquified oatmeal so what should it be? My dr suggested creamy mashed potatos or yougurt too. Maybe some real grits, little dash of garlic and cheese? Yummmmmm!

I do have a craving for some blue cheese, or parmeasan not dressing, but just a slice of the real deal and put it in my mouth and let is just dissolve before swallowing.

I went to pureed foods after liquids and I remember I did hard boiled eggs and avocado. I don't know why that's what I WANTED MOST IN THE WORLD, but I did.  So I made that :)

And, honestly, I have no idea what my first soft food was.  It clearly wasn't as exciting as pureed food was.  I was so freaking happy when I hit pureeds because it meant I could start cooking for my family and eating dinner with them again - two things which are super important to me!

My first pureed food was scrambled egg and I remember thinking there was no real big difference between pureed and soft so I really don't remember what that was. However, going to pureed was a great day in my life.

I remember that I had 4+ weeks of liquids, and when I was allowed to do soft foods, or full fluid type things, other than protein shakes, I had a lot of yogourt and applesauce (mixed). That went down nicely and a tiny portion filled my stomach. I added in unflavoured protein powder too, to add to my protein totals. Worked like a charm.

The other thing I did was purée baked beans (adding some unflavoured protein powder) and as well, some beef/veggie stew or homemade cream of chicken soup. Those were wonderful in the early stages. Oatmeal was good too.

I'm sure you'll find something that works for you!

i think i had ricotta cheese slatered in homemade marinara.... delicious.  Also greek yogurt was quite a treat...chobani has a banana flavored greek that i loved at that point. Now I am in love with Siggi's icelandic yogurt...low sugar high protein

I didn't eat anything that didn't contain protein.  My first soft food was tuna mixed with shredded cheese and a little greek yogurt, warmed up.  I managed 2-3 teaspoons and was full.  The ricotta bake was a favorite as well.

My first normal food was baked fish.

My first soft food was scrambled eggs with cheese.  My first pureed food was my mother in laws fried chicken (not the skin) with a little bit of her awesome cream gravy.  It was heaven.  My first "real" food was pot roast.

I had yogurt as part of the liquid diet, as they said it's considered a liquid.  My first mushy food was either chicken or egg salad from a local place that makes both mushy (no chunks of chicken).  I do remeber sorting through the chick and picking out tiny pieces of celery!  :)  I also ate scrambled egg yolk.  Those foods never tasted so good!
