I can't stop weighing myself!!
I don't own a scale, and only weigh in once a month at the doctor's office. This works for me, because otherwise I would obsess about the number on the scale. Now I obsess about other things like how many glasses of water, how much protein, how many steps etc. :)
My plan is to get a scale if I start to go off track, or when I hit maintenance.

I'm interested to follow the responses. I am working to break the scale's hold on me. I weigh daily and have a hard time dealing with disappointments. I want to weigh only once a week, but it is such a double edged habit !!!

I struggle with the same compulsion to weigh myself. The only thing I could do was ask for help from my sister. I put my scale at her house. I can go to see her and weigh if I want but it is not as easy as just walking in my bathroom. I am able to be content with just weighing once a week. We now celebrate together over a cup of coffee for the pounds we lost each week. Hope this helps.

I will only weight in monrning after peeing and I was doing the same thing which drove me nuts. I had to acutally hide my scarle or take it downstairs so I wouldn't weigh everyday. I now have it back in upstairs bathroom but just weigh once a week, and its much easier to deal with for me. Hope this helps for you.
I weigh everyday. I think I will continue to weigh everyday. I have been in maintenance essentially since early summer. Weighing everyday has kept me honest. The scale definitely fluctuates daily, but if I see a trend up and get to my top range, then I know I need to scale back.
If it is making you crazy maybe weigh less, or just try to think about it differently. I think knowing is important. Before, when I wouldn't weigh for a while, I know my eating just got worse and worse. I want to be able to catch myself at 3 or 5 lbs up rather than 30 lbs up.
I appreciate this comment. I'm at my parents for some unknown amount of time due to my dad's newly discovered brain tumor and I figured I wouldn't bother to pull out the scale I keep here. But I will because you're right. I can see myself using this as an excuse to slip into poor habits but continuing to weigh daily will help keep me honest and on track.
Thanks!!

I find it super stressful when I am away from my scale for more than a few days. I start worrying that I am gaining tons of weight. It actually tends to have the opposite affect -- I come home having lost some weight. I do sometimes use scales available when I am gone, but I only trust / record my Aria scale.
I hope things go well with your family.
Thanks.
I actually bought a Withings scale to use at my parents since their old scale was inaccurate and annoying :D

I do the same. I have to keep myself honest. If I stop weighing I am gaining. Just how I am. I have a "red line number too" I also recorded it daily on a site that tracks the trend which really help when I thought I wasn't losing like at 200 to 203
