Hi everyone, this site was suggested to me by a friend. I am very new to all this, I only know what the Dr's and surgery staff have told me about what to expect, and what I know from my own nursing background. So I'm here to learn all the stuff they DON'T tell you about in the office or in the books, lol. I have just over 2 wks til my surgery date. I'm getting nervous, but excited too. I'm 34, a mother of 3 and married and I'm an RN.

Welcome!  This is a great place to get all the facts from people who are traveling the same journey as you are.  I love to come here and learn the stuff that the doctors forget to tell you.

Hello,

I am also new on this site  My operation date is 27th Feb. Today is my second day on the liquid pre  op diet that my doctor prescribed.    I am excited about surgery .I am hoping that I can survive 2 weeks on only liquids. What is your pre op diet like? When is your op date? I am excited to start a new phase of my life. My daughter is already getting ideas about what I should wear with my new body but to that time it will be a long way.

Please let me know how you are and what you did today.

JoAnn

Hi there, I'm also new to the site and due to have my surgery 3/3/2015. I'm excited but nervous all at the same time. Started my optifast today. Can anyone give me ideas on what flavours are best and the soup or shakes etc. are better

This site is so amazing! To have people who are going through the same fears and excitement is truly awesome

That's my surgery date too! March 3rd.  My preop diet consists of protein drinks they want 40-50gms protein from supplements per day, 4oz lean meat or eggs or cheese per day and lots of vegetables, no carbs, caffeine, carbonated drinks or sugar. No fruit, sugar, or carbs.

Hi there!  Certifiable newbie here too.  I'm doing VSG on March 4th... it's crazy how fast that is approaching.  Best of luck to each of you, and I can't wait to hear about your journies!
