You might have an allergy to the adhesive used.  Call your surgeon's office first thing in the morning.

I had the same thing after VSG. It started about a week after surgery. Crazy itchy and started turning into welts. I just had my gallbladder out and the same thing happened. The doctor said I was alergic to the adhesive and told me to take Benadryl and use a cortaid cream. I don't know if the Benadryl helped, but the cream definitely did. Rash took about two weeks to go away, but the cream helped with the itchiness. Definitely check with the doctor. Good luck.

I had it too! I used Benedryl and hydrocortisone cream. It's an adhesive allergy and will eventually go away with some intervention. Until then, you're going to itch, for sure!

I had the same thing.  Turns out I was allergic to the adhesive on the bandages.  Ask for paper tape for any future surgeries.

Took Benadryl and used hydrocortisone and tea tree oil tohelp heal the rash.  It took several weeks to go away. This was the worst part of my recovery!

Check with your Dr to make sure that this is your issue and not an infection.  He may prescribe a stronger cream to help heal.

Good luck!
