The hungriest I've ever been In my life!!!
I'm only 6 days post op.. Sometimes I feel like I didn't have surgery. Maybe my sleeve is super sized??! And the hunger hormone is def still there!! I was asking for cantaloupe four hours after I woke up.Nothing has bothered me ( I do get some pain in between my shoulder blades if I eat too fast). I had a Greek yogurt.. 5 ounces and a bowl of cream of chicken soup.. And no fullness! I know I know.. Everyone says it's head hunger.. But I know my body.. I know the difference! I am so grateful that I haven't had problems.. I'm just kinda confused as to why I can eat kinda normally and don't really get full. I should mention I'm close to having my womanly cycle.. That could be contributing to hunger.. 9 days can't come fast enough. I hand never wanted meat and veggies so bad!
You've posted about hunger a lot in the last few days - are you taking a PPI such as prilosec or nexium?
You can eat normally because all the nerves in your stomach were severed so it can't communicate honestly with your brain right now.
You MUST stick to your post-op diet so you don't kill yourself. Measure everything you eat to make sure you don't overeat right now. It's really important.

Rereading the replies to your three previous posts about hunger might be helpful, since you're just going to get more of the same advice, I'm sure! Here are the links to those posts if you can't find them:

If it's been a couple of days already and it's not helping, switch to Nexium.

Have you called your surgeon? I can hear that you're very distressed and have been for several days, so I would be wanting to ask for some guidance or reassurance. I'm in Boston and know that Dr. Lautz has a reputation for being an incredibly compassionate doctor, so I suspect he could be of help. I'd strongly suggest giving that a shot. :)
You will start to feel restriction when you can eat meat and fish. Once I started eating grilled chicken and shrimp I started to actually feel full on 4 to 5 ounces of food. I have never been like the folks who can only eat 2 or 3 ounces at a time, but I am happy at the rate I am losing and I feel great exactly 5 months out from surgery.
I stick to solid protein with a veggie kicker and use yogurt for sauces or a dollop on my snack of blueberries.
I agree that your nerves are severed and this is not real hunger. I couldn't even eat more than 1-2 tsp of yogurt at that point. I would recommend measuring and eating rather than basing eating on hunger. You really could damage yourself. Just because you "can" doesn't mean you should. Also we have to learn that "feeling" in our stomach does not necessarily equate to hunger. Good luck - I hope it gets better for you - this really is a miraculous tool.

If it's acid related hunger, you have my sympathies. I just went through a bout of really brutal acid hunger. I felt like I would gnaw my arm off if given the chance. It sort of feels weird, not like a dull or achey hunger but a queasy, insistent feeling.
I second what everyone says about fullness. I didn't feel full at all on liquids. I thought I had no restriction. But one bite of purees and I realized there wasn't much room in my tiny stomach!
