1/2 a cup too much??
so I've been on purees for two days now. Everything seems to be going down ok, I am able to get in 1/4 - 1/2 a cup. This morning I was able to eat a turkey sausage pattie, and a smidgen of an egg and cheese mixed together & pureed to about 1/2 a cup. I just don't know if 1/2 a cup is too much, according to the surgeons paper work I can have 1/4 to 1/2 a cup, but everyone else seems like they can't eat that much even months out..?
every sleeve is different and every plan is different , also it is purried almost liquid it will be different when you move to solid food then 2 oz might fill you at first after a year you should be able to eat about 8 oz
This depends on your body (torso/stomach length), your sleeve size (boughie), what you are eating, and how far out from surgery you are.
Early out measure very very carefully -- the nerves in your stomach were cut, so you wont be able to feel fulness exactly yet. If your plan calls for 1/4 - 1/2 a cup then measure it and eat -- but stop when you feel the slightest bit full.
I am tall (long torso) and I believe I have relatively larger boughie than some. I know I can eat more volume than some people. I have been increasing the volume of my lunch lately b/c of the crazy snack monster attacking me in the afternoons. Today I packed a 2 cup tupperware thingy about 3/4 full of green beans & pork. I could have stuffed it all in, but I stopped with about 1/3 of a cup left. So at 14 months out, I had just over a cup for lunch. If I was eating bread or carby stuff, I probably could have fit a lot more in there.
If you're eating within the guidelines your surgeon gave you, I wouldn't worry. Every sleeve is different and your surgeon's plan is best for you.
Personally, I'd choose to stick to the smaller side of my surgeon's recommendations, especially this early out, but that's your call.

When I was in pureed stage, I was drinking two shakes a day still to reach my protein goals.
