Have gained back all weight

I will be 5 years out next month. I posted my story a few weeks ago. I was very disappointed in my weight gain, and sad also. However, I don't live in the pitty party land. We are all in control of our actions and life.

My weight gain initially was gradual and started around the 2 year mark. I was even okay with the 1st 20 pounds. I was still at a healthy weight/BMI. The next 10 I was concerned about, but the next 20 came on in a matter of 3 months! I'm actually thankful that it happened that way. If it were gradual, I may not have been jolted into action.

Even though I have had the same PCP since before surgery. His advice was eat less/move more. I had lost all connection with actually having a sleeve.

Although I had read about slider foods. I didn't eat them during my losing period. So when I was faced to deal with the weight gain it was very clear what happened. Sugar and carbs are sliders! Drinking with meals helped flush down even protein foods so I could eat more.

You've been given good advice. Pretty much what I did-detox on protein shakes, then went back to the very basics.

I have lost 11 pounds since the 2nd week in Jan. My goal was at least 15 by my 5 year anniversary which is still a month away.

There have always been negative and hurtful comments made on this board disguised as "tough love". I understand if someone is trying to eat a steak at 3 weeks post-op, but in everyday life of not losing or gaining-I find them to be offensive, and not helpful at all.

Get back to basics, be honest with yourself, track, and up your exercise, and I'm sure you will find success.
