"need guidance as to where to start"

1. YOUR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN's OFFICE

2. YOUR SURGEON's OFFICE (same day appt preferably)

3. A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL  (same day appt preferably)

The LAST PLACE ya'd want to go with a 'story like this' is a WLS forum.

Maybe ya had your surgery in Mejico...sleeve and leave ...cuz here in the U.S. we have to pass a psych eval. PRIOR to VSG , one of the major questions assessed is our ABILITY to utilize resources available to us in the event we get tripped up.

Also majority of U.S. bariatric surgeons require 3-4 post op follow up visits with labs within our first year. Annually thereafter. You obviously missed those assessments too. Having had your sleeve done in Mejico makes perfect sense now.

     Time's a waisting....

LOL. The psych eval is seriously a joke. Look at some of the people who have been on here with obvious HUGE mental problems, yet were still approved. Also what is a surgeon going to do if you don't come in for "required" visits? Take away your birthday? Reverse the surgery?

There are a great deal of people who go to Mexico and do just fine, just like there is an even bigger number of US surgeon patients who fail.

A WLS forum can be just like a support group so "a story like this" belongs here with people who have gone through similar problems.

I believe if you click on the ticker it will take you to the site where you can make your own.

These folks in here are aggressive and negative. Not everyone is successful at wls. As long as you don't give up,  the is hope.  Praying helps, use whatever works for you. Block the negative, bask in the positive.

You (meaning anyone) can out eat any surgery. No surgery will be successful just on the surgery itself. If you don't change you, then nothing will change. I can't eat much in a single sitting, but I can eat often and often enough leads to excessive calorie consumption. I'm not clear on what all you went through to regain, but I think maybe some visits with a dietician and a mental health counselor would be helpful. Make a diary and note when you get a craving to eat or do eat outside of times you should have eaten. What was happening when you felt the need to eat even though you weren't hungry? Sometimes tracking things like that will help us find our triggers.

Good luck! Get your mind in the game and you can totally rock this!

Hi, I would suggest that you go to support groups, follow up with your biatric team. You still have that "tool" you can use. Maybe you need to get a barium test done to see if in fact your stomach stretched more than it should have. I don't think you wasted the surgery. If we were all perfect we wouldn't have needed it. Humans here! We make mistakes. I myself will sometimes compair my journey with others my starting height and weight...big mistake. Gets me depressed..and I am an emotional eater. Not good at all.  Good luck!
