Have gained back all weight
I really feel for you. The responses from other members are on target. You CAN do this!!!! My surgery is Feb 16th. I have been working with a therapist for several months as I know WLS is only a tool. You deserve to be healthy. No shame just work your plan. "Everyone that got anywhere did so from where they started". Not where we wish we were starting. Please keep me posted.
Hi- I look at your picture and see a smiling and beautiful woman. You've gotten good advice above so I won't repeat it and anyway you know what you need to do.
I just want to tell you that you are not a failure and you should not feel shame. We all make mistakes and we all do things we shouldn't and I'm sure lots of us struggle with food even after we meet our weight loss goal. We are all a work in progress.
Please know that we do not judge you,we feel for you and we are cheering for you. First day in February is your new start day- start to take care of yourself, try to make good food water and exercise decisions and respect yourself for acknowledging your mistake and give yourself a pat on the back for deciding to do better.
Sending your love and understanding and all good wishes.
Dee
You poor thing. I don't know about re-stretching your stomach but getting back on your plan and keeping it simple seems the way to go. Throw out all of your food except plain protein. I am 4 1/2 months and I can eat anything and feel no pain but I am still losing weight. When I am in doubt I just stick to chicken, fish and eggs and a little spinach.
So sorry you gained your weight back, the other posters have given you some good advice, it's just up to you to get back on track. Kick those carbs to the corner, you can do this! You might also want to look into getting therapy, there might be an emotional component attached to your eating & a therapist could help you. Good Luck

In addition to the good advice given so far, I would suggest that this time around, get the support you need to avoid slipping back into old habits. This forum, bariatric support groups, and Overeaters Anonymous are all helpful in keeping you on track. Good luck on your second journey.

Guthhsj, My heart breaks for you...I fear what you have been through. I am only 3 months and three weeks post op so I can't imagine how hard it has been for you... I only know I am not physically hungry but I have mental cravings for sugar and carbs. I have an asshole brother who has brought chocolate into the house for Xmas and he deliberately sabotages me. I explained to everyone that I am like a recovering addict and I can't be around that stuff. I don't go out to restaurants or to family events that involve food. I just missed a funeral for that reason, I know I can not trust myself to avoid the wrong foods. I think you should try to find a support group and a psychologist who deals with food addiction to help you. I tried Over Eaters Anonymous but I failed at that 12 step program myself. The surgery was my last hope. I imagine you felt the same way. Have you done follow up appointments and called your surgeon?
Everyone gave good advice. I'm just curious how much weight were you supposed to lose? You said you lost 50 pounds. Did you ever get to goal? Or did you only need to lose 50 pounds? I'm asking because maybe you're the type that needs a more malabsorption type surgery like the DS.
If you go to the revision board here on OH, you will find oodles of people who have regained and/or never reached goal despite their best efforts. It probably isn't all you, but you know for sure. For many, it's not as simple as calories in/calories out. Some need to give their metabolism a kick in the pants, which is what the malabsorptive procedures (RNY & DS) do. This may or may not be your answer, but it's worth exploring. Just know that you're not alone.

I just spoke to a client of mine who is having "Laparoscopic pouch resizing". She had her gastric bypass 7 years ago and successfully lost over 100 lbs. Two years ago she put on about 35 post-pregnancy lbs and has not been able to lose it. Apparently there are a limited number of specialists in NYC and here in NJ who are making pouches smaller for folks after their pouches stretch.
It's freezing out so I didn't get all the details but if you are interested I can follow up with her.
