Picture Documenting

Ok, I have a friend who says I should be taking pictures so that I can see the changes. He thinks I will be amazed. Well, part of me thinks "good idea" but then there is this part of me that doesn't want to see. Does that sound odd?? If I do, how often should I be doing it? What do you all think?

Yes! Take pictures. I love looking back at how far I've come. It will also help when you hit a stall and think you aren't losing. I take mine about once a month. My progress pics are in my profile.

Absofrigginlutely do it! My photos were an important part of my journey, along with my measurements. You don't have to look at where you started, I GET that being in front if a camera is painful, but think of it as a journalist might. You are just documenting a point in time. Do it in front of a door or piece of furniture to give yourself a gauge against how you are changing, and wear similar style of clothing to really show impact. Take forward facing and side facing at minimum, and take them monthly or perhaps quarterly.

have fun!

ps- here is my pre/post front facing example. Not magazine quality but important to me. And yes, I felt brave for taking my "pre" photo in my bathing suit! Heck, I felt brave taking the post one in my bathing suit as well! (Edited to remove "helpful" iOS autocorrect)

Definitely recommend it! I can't believe my progress pictures sometimes. I'm so glad I have them. I actually wish I had a better one of my highest weight. You can see mine in my profile. I try to take mine at least once a month but I'm not super disciplined about it.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

I take pictures every month on the anniversary of my surgery. I also take measurements and track my loss that way too.

When I have stalls (and yes, everyone stalls from time to time) it's these methods of tracking that keep me on track and show me that even though the numbers on the scale aren't changing, that my body IS DOING SOMETHING. Things shift. Weight redistributes. Skin tightens. Muscles grow. Toning is apparent. It's all worthwhile to track this in photo documentation (even if you don't share it with anyone) so that you can show yourself just how far you have come.

Trust me on this. Do it. For you. For your brain. For your progress. And for your psyche! It's SO worth it!

Absolutely take pics so that you can see the progress.   I've been amazed at how my body has changed.  Take a look at my pics in my profile.   It helps me to take pics and look at them.  It keeps me on track.

I agree that pics are a great idea.  It's been sort of fun visiting my parents every month or so since they always insist on taking pictures before I head back home... I know that I'll value those pictures as documentation of my weight loss.

You don't need to look at anything now, just take them so you'll have them for later.  :)
