Mine is Wednesday as well!  I couldn't sleep last night.  I have been very stressed and anxious since yesterday.  I'm excited, but just nervous about recovery (I have an almost 3 year old, and i'm having my gall bladder removed and hiatal hernia repaired during my procedure).  I know this is the right thing to do, for me it's just the "what if" questions.  Good luck and if you find anything that calms you down please let me know!!!

Hi I am 2 weeks post op today...I know where you are coming from...I was scared, but turns out the surgery was the easiest part of this whole process...it was over before I knew it..just follow the rules for recovery and you will do just fine...

You are giving yourself an extraordinary gift, so try to focus on gratitude and anticipation of the wonderful things to come.  It's a journey/adventure - the surgery is just the beginning.  Take a deep breath, and look forward to it! :)

I was extremely nervous and the way I got through it was to view it just as if I were going to have a root canal - not something I wanted to do but something I needed to do and so I kept telling myself "Just put one foot in front of the other" and guess what, it got me through the surgery and now I'm 35 days on the other side and feeling great!  You CAN do this and it will be SO WORTH IT!  Good luck.

I've wanted to do this for a few years. It just took a while to talk my wife into it. So, I was READY.

Just remember, this is pretty low-risk. Keep telling yourself it will be OK. You are going to be thin and live a lot longer because of the surgery.

Hang in there.
