Done.
I have a five-year old daughter who has my body type/shape and who is already overweight. She runs around all day long, and eats good, healthy food but damn, she loves her junk. We limit it, but if we're not super careful, she will end up needing WLS when she is my age... or earlier.
Last week, for the first time, another child called her "fat." I almost cried for her. It breaks my heart. I don't want her to go down this road. And I don't want stupid, insensitive kids taunting and teasing her. I can imagine them taking a school photo of her and using one of these apps to make her feel like absolute sh*t about herself. No one needs that.
So I applaud you the OAC for going after these sorts of things. It's not something we need and it does nothing to enhance our society, our well-being, or our lives. Good job Shelly. Keep up the great work.

:( I feel the sting for her. Kids can be cruel and sadly it's adults and the media they hear it from first. You are doing a great job modeling a value for healthy eating and living now and that will have a positive effect for certain.
There is a resource the STOP Obesity Alliance puts out. It's for parents of kids 7-11 I think, so might be a little early for some of the tips but I'll link you http://www.stopobesityalliance.org/wp-content/themes/stopobe sityalliance/pdfs/stopobesityalliance-weighin.pdf and the OAC magazine each month has a fun Kids Korner section http://www.obesityaction.org/understanding-obesity-in-childr en/kids-corner Hope it helps :)
Thanks for the kind words too. The OAC is awesome group I am proud to be a part of it.
TY for signing.
