Is it normal to start skipping periods after having the sleeve? I'm 53 days out and had a normal period in July, but now I'm 3 days late.  I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant, but it's starting to freak me out. I've never really been late before.

Thanks!

Take a pregnancy test. If it says no have your obgyn check your hcg levels via your blood.  If thats says no have them give you progesterone and see if you can get a paragard so you can't get pregnant into you're ready to. I hope this helps.

My period was very odd for the several months following surgery.  I never completely skipped it, but had some delays / very light months.

My period has been a little crazy since surgery. I haven't had a period in YEARS. I was on Depo (a shot every 3 months and you never get a period), then I had gained ALOT of weight, got off about 2 years ago (thinking it was the Depo because that was a side effect) when I got off, I started taking Lybrel and I still don't have a period (it's like 28 active pills instead of 21 active and 7 inactive). If I don't take the pills I will start to have a period. I went on vacay for 5 days and left my pills at home. I really didn't think too much of it (no boyfriend to speak of, I've always just taken them to controll the cramping that comes with my periods) and as soon as I got home I did have a period for about 3 days but then it was over, I was back on the pills and all was good.  I never lost the weight, in fact gained more, so my gain was not the Depo like I thought. Then surgery happened and even during surgery, not taking it the day of surgery or the day after, no period. Now all of a sudden, at 3 weeks post-op, without missing a pill, I've had a period ALL WEEK. It started last weekend with the horrible cramps and I'm still going today, a whole week later.

I've skipped two or three months twice in the past 7 months (surgery was on jan 31st).

Yup, your hormones are going crazy.  I had a period about 2 weeks prior to my surgery (mid-June) and didn't get it again until last week, so basically I skipped a month.

I had a normal period right after my surgery, but haven't had one since. I'm 2 months out next week. I haven't been concerned because I know the weight loss has to make it crazy.

ITS VERY COMMON TO SKIP OR HAVE EXTRA PERIODS WHILE IN THE WEIGHT LOSE PHASE

YOUR BODY STORES HORMONES IN YOUR FAT AND WHEN YOU LOSE WEIGHT QUICKLY IT IS RELEASED AND  screws up your cycle

some women get very horny also very easy to get pregnant

most surgeons want you too use 2 forms of birth control , hormonal birth control can not be trusted alone
