Maintenance?
So I think I have fallen into maintenance. I am super happy with where I am. I could maybe lose a few more lbs, but really there isn't much left. I can comfortably fit into a size 10 and feel long and lean most of the time. I thought I would want to lose a little bit more to fit into the BMI standards and have more of a buffer, but I don't really want to play with my diet to fight it.
This is my weight chart over the last month:
I'm not planning on changing anything. I'm pretty content. Things might drop again at some point, but things are pretty good.
I'm eating now about 1000 -1200 calories on average / day and working out a lot. I know I have had a lot of cheats the last month. I'm trying to clean those up, but definitely not planning on cutting back to 800 to try and force myself to goal.
Let's see where I am in a month -- or 3 weeks for the OH conference :) I'll let you guys tell me in person what you think!
It is outside of LA. I keep debating if I am going to go or not because I will be at my parents for vacation on the east coast and it will be such a lot of travel. But I keep coming to the conclusion, that the support is so worth it. I would not have gotten through this last 6 months without the support from this board. I think meeting people in person will just help that continue.
Maybe you can come next Summer -- i think then it will be on the east coast.
I think this is great! I'm also curious to see how things change for you now that you've got a non-traveling job and, in theory, will be better able to cultivate a routine.

Funny you should mention the BMI tables. I just saw my surgeon for my 6 month check up. This is the first time he actually gave me like a goal weight. Everyone told me just focus on recovery, eat right and never set a goal, so i set 145 for myself.
He looked at me and goes, I want you at 160 155 the lightest. He said that the BMI charts were made back in 1981, never updated with all the research in the past 30+ years. So naturally, I asked him why he still had the chart up in his office then LOL.
He also said that the body likes to be around 26-28 BMI, not too much below 24.
Stacey - I think if you look great and you feel great, and you feel like you can live with and be successful with what you are doing now, than that's great! That means its manageable and you are more likely to stick to something thats manageable and "normal", then reduced or "dieting".
You have worked so hard and look so wonderful, and you can definitely tell that you feel wonderful in your messages and pictures!
Have a great time at the conference and please report back on any findings!
Well, since looks are all I have to go on, I say you look awesome!!! But what I really love is how you say that you're comfortable where you are, comfortable w/ the calories and exercise balance you've found, and feeling good. I also think seeing what happens in the next month is a great attitude to have. It could be that your body is equilibrating and will actually lose a little more. It could be that you're right, and you're there at this calorie and exercise level. This is such a waiting game but you've got it handled! Good job!!
I am so happy for you that you have reached a balanced point for yourself! I guess my only caution on your decision to stay with it instead of pushing for further weight loss is that it may get even more difficult the further out from surgery you get, and as difficult as it seems to go lower now, it might be the best time for it. This doesn't take into account fatigue over struggling up to this point, nor does it take into account how happy you are with the balance you've found, but I figured I'd put it out there. You look terrific, and I am a total fan!!!
