How close to your daily plan are you?
I typically have an idea of my. Daily menu early in the day. I typically enter it into myfitnesspal in the morning and make sue my macros are close to my goals. Typically something throughout the day will change. I swap some nuts for a snack, or I fall asleep before my final snack (last night) or I just decide on something different for a meal.
How close do you all follow your menu plan for the day?
I like listening to my body, but it can be tricky because my mind can trick me into thinking it is my body :)
I do what you do - create a general plan in the morning, enter in MFP, and adjust as needed. :) That helps me NOT go overboard when the sweet demon comes calling....and if I "need" something, I can evaluate the whole day's plan to decide what is the best change to make.
Typically, I end up with 800-1000 calories, 70-80 grams of protein, and about 60 carbs.
If my mind is playing tricks, I drink a bottle of water, and then start tricking back. "If you want that, wait 10 minutes." Or "If you stay exact today, you can have a little ice cream tomorrow". (and by "a little" - I weigh out exactly a quarter cup!)

I do the same thing, but I'm still really new. I worry about the future if I get off track.
When I was losing weight, I would have a cooler where I put in all the food that I would eat for the day. Once the food was gone, I was done eating. Now, I have a general outline of what I am going to eat, but things change and as long as I am under my goal weight range, I don't mind much. However, when I am over my range, I go back to my cooler routine.
Most of the time, I'm fairly good. Maybe once or twice a week I deviate due to cir****tances. Like yesterday. I had plans to cook dinner like normal and have meals like normal, but I spent the evening in ER instead :P

I'm feeling infinitely better now! The last two days I sort of felt like a bus ran me over a few times.

I stick pretty close to plan. I also log early in the day based on what I have available. Mostly my meals are interchangeable. They are all about 300 calories and include 3.5 ounces of protein and some veggie. So occasionally, I'll decide to eat the meatballs rather than the pork chop, or the chicken salad rather than the Thai Chicken, etc. But it doesn't matter much as they are all about the same calorie-wise.
