Today is a bad pain day, so I'm skipping the gym and pilates and icing instead. If I start to feel better later, I'll go for a walk in my development.

Hope you start feeling better soon, Gwen.
B: 1/2 Quest bar (I was starting a new workout with a trainer and didn't want a protein shake sloshing around)
L: poached egg, 1 saltine, as much of 4oz of cottage cheese and diced pears as I can get down
S: cheese stick
D: going out to a mexican restaurant before my niece's graduation ceremony, so . . . fajitas or a chicken dish
S: Either a Premier protein drink, or some cooked chicken breast, depending on my protein deficit at this point.
E: First pilates class done.
V: On track
W: Doing well
Thanks, Skeller. I'm working on it, but it's just so frustrating to feel like I'm making progress and then have yet another set back :( Argh.
How was pilates? And the new trainer?

Ok, so I'm exactly 4 weeks out from surgery, and I've been walking between 1-2 miles a day for at least 2 weeks. I was trembling a quarter of the way into the class, and had to give all the positions/exercises a try, but couldn't do all the reps. So I guess this means it's going to be awesome ;)
The new (to me) trainer is awesome and very kind, very knowledgeable, and I'm going to take her class twice a week going forward. Together with walking and aqua aerobics, I think this will be a pretty comprehensive workout over the next few months. I also purchased a bunch of individual trainer sessions (they were "on sale"), and I'll use those later when I need more of a challenge.
Altogether, it was great, I'm exhausted, and I'm wondering if I need a nap before going to my niece's graduation tonight!
Hang in there with the back pain, and be gentle with yourself.
Pilates totally kicks my butt, and I love it :D Expect your abs to be super sore tomorrow! I have to modify a lot of the positions right now, but I try to do it unmodified each time and it does get minutely easier with every class.
It sounds like you've got a really awesome fitness plan going forward!! Way to go! I don't know that I think the fitness helps necessarily with weight loss for me, but it makes me feel better about myself and I know it's great for my organs and muscles and life in general :D The weight loss has made it possible for me to be able to do these things!
