Talk about freaking stalls - 3 yrs out

Maybe it'll make all the new ops feel better but even at 3 years out my body does weird stuff. I had back surgery and gained 15 lbs from fluid,  steroids, just general surgical weight that magically appears. I came home and felt so fat and bloated and of course everyone tells you it'll leave quickly. Mine didn't. For 2.5 weeks I carried this unwanted and undeserved "weight". It drove me crazy - yep. After 3 years of doing this i still haven't wrapped my head around this.

Lesson: figure it out sooner rather than later! Weight that magically appears WILL eventually go away! And stalls happen. I just always find a few lbs before I "stall".

This journey is very psychological. I regret not getting into therapy much sooner so I could have avoided building and supporting these crazy irrational thoughts when it comes to things like food, eating, weight, scales and body image.

I hope this helps some of you when it comes to 3 week stall or whatever stalls you encounter (and another lesson - do not get on a scale for 4 weeks after surgery and you'll never knew you "stalled".

Ugh, same thing here.  I dealt with tons of fluid retention due to the double mastectomy and my weight went up a little, despite the girls' getting cut off.  I am almost 5 weeks out and still not back to normal yet.  I had the side of my rib cage retain so much fluid after I went back to work last week it created a side book that went from the armpit down to the waist, and jutted out several very sore inches.  So hang in there, at some point we will heal!

Psychological is SO RIGHT ON...How're ya doing after the surgery, chicki-poo?  Hope daily improvement is what it's all about.  One day, soon, you will look to this trial and be amazed at: 1.  how you ever made it through it- and 2. how very much you've learned and grown for having gone through it.  It is all of it good- and benificial for instruction--makes who we are--and YOU, Girl, are something else!!!  Love and hugs- Bonnie

Stalls suck sweaty balls.

Kudos to you for rocking the bikini (your other post). People would probably pay me NOT to wear a bikini in public.

It is good thing I wasn't drinking anything, or my keyboard would be wet, LOL.
