Competition tomorrow, Pasadena

Well, in spite of being swamped with work, I signed up for the ISI Pasadena open. I will skate 2 programs, one of them is fairly new. I did skate it about 6 weeks ago at the CA State Games, but my coach changed the choreography a little. Instead of a spiral, I will do a pivot.

What does this have to do with my VSG? Well my sleeve helped me get rid of about 90 pounds. I know if I still had that weight, there would be no way that I could be living this active life I have now. This is my 4th competition, and hopefully, it won't be my last.

For those of you who don't know, my DH also has a VSG. He is about 9 months ahead of me and has been maintaining his goal weight range for quite a while now. He has run 5 official 1/2 marathons. He will run his 1st full marathon next week at the OC event.

I feel like we have a real life now. We enjoy being active and participating in sports we love. For those of you who are newer in your journey, hang on, it's a great ride, if you work at it.

Linda your story is a true testament to the power of change. I've been able to run again since my surgery and it brings me so much joy. Wishing you success, and looking forward to seeing you and Mike again at Conference!

Damn it one day I will be heatlhy and strong enough to skate with you. I specifically mentioned ice skating as an activity I need to be able to do after my surgery and it got me an extra procedure so I can maintain my flexibility. Cant wait!

Id love to come watch sometime if youd ever be open to it!

Of course I am open to it. I am glad that you might eventually get to skate with me. Do you have an approximate time frame when you will be allowed to try it? I don't want to try it to soon.

I am not sure if I can post video here, but my coach did record it on my I-phone. Oh, there my next competition is June 8th in Ontario, home ice advantage
