hi...i was wondering if he does his surgerys out of elmhurst, and i will be a self pay and wondered what his total cost would be...does he do a pre op diet?...I would love to hear whatever you are willing to share...

I had my surgery out of St. Joseph -- I'm not sure if he does it out of Elmhurst.  I was self pay too -- if you call the office, Yolanda gave me all of the info very easily: 887-3-YOU-CAN.  I believe my total cost was ~17000 (including the consultation and psychologist etc.)

He does do a pre-op diet.  It is a liquid diet - it sucks.  

The office has a nutritionist and a co-ordinator(they just got a new one, so I'm not sure how he is), so there is support.  They also run monthly support groups which I find very helpful.

thank you for the response...I want and need to do this so badly..but, I am so scared...i've never had surgery before and this seems so scary...how long was it from your first consult til your surgery? how longwas the liquid diet?

I was able to do it very quickly (I got lucky! and was able to get all my appointments done).  It took about 5-6 weeks.  My liquid diet was 2 weeks (worst time!)

wow..that is quick...i've done liquid diets in the past, but with knowing I will be able to eat again afterwards...before surgery is probably much harder...

I have had him as well and everything went very quick and smooth no complaints at all.
