As soon as all my food is cooked, I let it cool off and then break it down into servings.  The temptation is LESS when I break it down.

We had our Passover Seder one day early. Eighteen people came over to celebrate with my family last night.  We had a great time but I was less than perfect and must now check myself in order to get right back into my usual eating plan.

B: eggs and portabella mushroom

L: Gefilete fish-  This is the home made version, had nothing to do with the stuff you see in cans.  Think stuffed fish.  It is delicious and I eat it with horseradish.  Small salad

D: Chicken soup minus the matzo balls,

Snacks: veggies or Greek yogurt

I gave away all the leftovers that could hurt my program, much to my families outrage, but it had to be done.

I love Gefilete Fish, the homemade version. My mom makes wonderful fish. We are having Seder tomorrow, but I am going to skip the fish this year because of the matzo meal.

Will have brisket and salad, maybe a bite of fruit for dessert. Still pretty early out, got the green light to eat anything, including grains but am treading carefully. Very tight capacity. No need to rush this.

We always have potato soup and horseradish with the fish, although this is I think a Romanian thing.

B: one egg over easy, two slices of paleo bacon (uncured, no sugar)

S: Quest bar (post workout)

L: 3 oz herb crusted pork tenderloin, cauliflower puree & roasted brussels sprouts

S: Pineapple & cashews

D: bison meatballs (grain free) over spaghetti squash

S: strawberries (if needed)

Water: 32oz so far, will most likely drink about a gallon

Vitamins: I only take a multi.  My labs have been fine post-surgery

Exercise: Art of Strength.  Fab class!  I got lots of comments on my flexibility.  LOL

I wanted to say how wonderful I think this thread is every time I read it.  I haven't had my VSG yet.  I will have my endoscopy in the next week or so and then my surgery date will be set.  In the meantime I am learning so much from reading what everyone is eating as they progress further through this journey.  I think I need to find somewhere to get some of this Chike everyone is talking about.  Ms. Shell I"ve noticed you mention kelp noodles several times, what is that?  I'm intrigued about the Thai Coconut Chicken Curry also.  As a transition I've started making more high protein and low carb meals as I get closer to my pre-op diet.

Kelp Noodles are noodles made of kelp =) that's the short answer.  My friend told me about them.  Essentially they are a low/no carb alternative to regular noodles.  Here's a link to a lady who uses them.
