My sister had the sleeve 4 years ago and is very convinced she has stretched her sleeve back to normal size stomach.  Can that happen?

It depends on how much of her fundus was left intact.  I know when I eat a lot of carbs, I would swear my sleeve was much larger.  Back on plan and clean eating though reaffirms that the restriction is excellent.

I was told by my surgeon that there is no way it will stretch back to its starting size , I was told it will normally stretch to about 1 cup maybe 1 1/2 cup starting size is 4 + cups (32 oz)

What's her diet like? She needs to write down every bite, there may be some surprises.  She could do the 5 day pouch test to figure out if it's stretched. she could also get a barium swallow test which will show on xray how much capacity she has.

Surgery will be hopefully in October or November 2014, with Dr. Megan Gilmore

What is a 5 day pouch test?

check out this link   http://5daypouchtest.com/   and do a search on OH for it and you'll find a lot of posts about people doing it and their results. Urge your sister to get back to the very basics after the test, including journaling every bite. Sometimes getting back to the basics on any diet helps people get back on track.

I'm almost 6 years out and if I ate like I did prior to surgery, I'd blow a sleeve! 3oz's of dense protein, 1/4 sweet potato, and a few veggies does it in one setting...
