Under 650 calories and guess what I can do

So my surgeon has been fussing with me about getting to 800 calories and try as I may I just can't seem to get there. So I decided to just focus on getting in my protein and wherever the calories end they end. On a good day I will get to about 680 calories but most days I'm around 600. Well guess what, he said I'd be weak but I just got done swimming, vigorously I might add, for 75 minutes and I feel great (second day in a row). Since I got cleared for work outs I've felt like a million bucks and all under 650 calories. I've come to the conclusion that sometimes you just have to figure out what works best for you and stick to it.

I did all my workouts through 6.5 months on 700-750 calories and never had any issues.  I was also 20g of carbs at the same time.

As long as it works, go for it.

You should certainly listen to your own body in terms of calories. However, your surgery was relatively recent so long term, if you're doing the kind of strenuous exercise you seem to be doing (good job!) you might find you need more calories to keep losing weight (yes, losing).  You may still be in a bit of a honeymoon phase where significantly reduced calories and a good workout results in good results, but long term your muscles may feel tired, you may feel tired etc or your body may simply put the brakes on weight loss.

There are certainly easy ways to get in calories and GOOD fat, which is good to do, for example, before a workout.  My weight loss stalled even though I was doing martial arts and running several times a week, plus I was often simply lacking the energy to put in a "good" workout.  I figured out with help of an RD that I wasn't eating enough calories for my body to "let go" of weight.  I started eating 1 slice whole grain/whole oat/whole wheat bread with 2 tablespoons peanut butter and lost 7 pounds last month.

Congrats on losing but keep an open mind about upwardly revising your calories consumption as your body adjusts and as your needs change.

Thanks veggiegal and i will certainly try to eat more add the time goes in but for right now i just can't. I think i get further out I'll be able to consume more but 650 calories isn't that bad.
