Rash on tummy apron fold
I did NOT think I would get this AFTER having surgery... but I have an angry red rash in the fold of my stomach apron. It's right where I had my c-section incisions too. It's PAINFUL and itchy. I really just want to treat it with an antifungal cream at home, because I don't want to go to the doc... (I'm so embarassed!!!) Have any of you had this? :(

Go to to doc so it can be documented!! Documentation like this helps make you case for insurance to cover plastics!

I've had rashes in my belly button for years; they started after my hysterectomy. I clean with rubbing alcohol and then put antibiotic cream on it. Usually clears up fast. The secret to avoiding them is to keep the area dry. Once you get it cleared up try using deodorant to keep that area from sweating. Works under the breasts and between the thighs too. Chaffing hurts!
You might want to swallow that embarassment and have the doc take a look at it so he can document it in case you want to get a pannulectomy down the road to have that apron removed. It can help get insurance approval for the panni when the doc has actually seen it.
If you aren't interested in the panni then yep go ahead and treat it at home with something like monestat which has the yeast killing medication in it already.
It is embarrassing. I've had rashes like that for years. Now i live in a dry climate (so it's WAY better) but it's bad when I live somewhere humid. I have inverse psoriasis, and treat it with prescription cream. In addition that's an area that collects lots of yeast and other yuckiness. Blow dry the area well after you shower and before you get dressed, and do get it documented. I get it under my breasts too. Wonder if the documentation will help me get a lift? :)
